Darling Harbour

For nights that start with a skyline and end with a story

You’ll find Darling Harbour a short wander from Hotel Woolstore 1888 — not far, but just far enough to feel like you’ve earned your evening. It’s where Sydney rolls out the skyline, the boardwalks, the water views and the welcome. Perfect for guests who like to explore, then retreat.

From our place in Pyrmont, it’s all close enough to call yours.

Local attractions to explore

Darling Harbour is more than just a postcard view. It’s where you’ll find the heritage-listed Pyrmont Bridge, the towering IMAX Cinema with one of the biggest screens in the southern hemisphere, and the Australian National Maritime Museum — a surprisingly fun stop whether you’re into naval history or just want to climb aboard a submarine.

For something a little slower, the Chinese Garden of Friendship offers a quiet place to pause just moments from the buzz. Prefer something more lively? The WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo puts native icons like koalas and kangaroos on show, all within a short walk from Hotel Woolstore 1888.

Fireworks and after-dark moments

Every Saturday night from 4 October onwards, Darling Harbour fireworks light up the sky — a free, dazzling display that’s just as magical for first-timers as it is for locals. Whether you’re sipping drinks by the water or heading home from dinner, it’s the kind of Sydney moment that feels like a finale.

And if the night’s still young, you’re in the right place. The ICC Sydney and ICC Sydney Theatre play host to international performers, comedy greats and headlining music acts.

Eat your way through the harbour

Darling Harbour dining is a choose-your-own adventure. Whether you’re in the mood for a long waterfront lunch or a quick bite between sights, you’ll find it all within easy reach of our boutique Sydney hotel.

Indulge in dessert at Kurtosh, where freshly made Hungarian pastries are rolled to order, or cool down with a scoop (or three) from Messina, one of Sydney’s most-loved gelato institutions.

From special occasion restaurants to family-friendly bites, there’s plenty to discover — and plenty of reasons to wander back again tomorrow.
